Swiss Nocturne is a movement from my Continental Concerto. The concept of the Concerto was to take a whistle-stop tour, anti-clockwise, around the various musical cultures and places of interest in Europe. Starting in the UK we work through France, Spain, Central Europe and Norway before finally returning back to the UK to finish.

As a player with the Black Dyke Band, we have the pleasure of visiting Lucerne in Switzerland annually. The KKL concert hall sticks out into the beautiful Lake Lucerne and the sights you can see when leaving the stage door are breathtaking. Clear water spanning miles into the mountains in the distance and the tranquil waterfront café life of Lucerne is something that I wanted to reflect in a peaceful, yet flowing solo for Baritone.
