BONNIE BLACK ISLE (David Knox) A beautiful melody composed by David Knox when he was Bandmaster of the Gordon Highlanders, stationed in Fort George which overlooked the 'Bonnie Black Isle', part of the picturesque Scottish Highlands around Inverness.

NB Please note that all the titles in this category ( Bagpipes and Brass Band ) can be performed with the Concert Band arrangements on our Wind Band site - i.e. the keys are compatable.

Instrumentation is Standard British Brass Band Instrumentation

i.e. all brass parts are transposing and in Treble Clef, with the exception of the Bass Trombone, which is written in Bass Clef at Concert Pitch.
