" I was inspired to compose this tune after receiving a New Year postcard of Mount Fuji from a friend in Japan.
Twice a year the sun sets directly behind the summit of Mount Fuji, creating a sparkling display, just like a diamond. This spectacular event is known to the Japanese as "Diamond Fuji", and can be seen from downtown Tokyo".
