This euphonium solo was written at the request of Derrick Kane for his solo album “Lyric Variations” which he recorded with the International Staff Band of the Salvation Army.
The popularity of the Scottish tune “Annie Laurie” has endured for more than a century (perhaps even two) and the Salvation Army has often used the tune to sing the words of song number 65 in their song book.
