This collection contains the music from the legendary film. Made in 1980, The Blues Brothers takes the audience through the escapades of Jake and Elwood Blues. The film begins with Jake´s release from prison. Making an obligatory visit to the orphanage where they grew up, the head nun tells them that the orphange will soon be closed due to owing $5000 in back taxes.
On the advice of their friend Curtis, they go to an evening service given by the Rev. Cleophus James. There, Jake «see´s the light» and realizes the answer to their financial problem – putting the Blues Brothers Band back together. Now on a «mission from God», Jake and Elwood track down the members of the band and put on the concert that saves the orphanage, but not before trashing a shopping mall, singing in a country bar and leaving a pile of crashed police cars in their wake.
The Blues Brothers was based on the characters from the TV show Saturday Night Live and has become a cult classic among music movies. Known as the «sherman tank» of musicals, the movie is filled with musical legends, such as James Brown, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway and John Lee Hooker.
