Embraceable You was written for Elgar Howarth's brother Stanford while they both played in the Barton Old Band, conducted by their father Oliver.
Howarth was about seventeen years old when he arranged this Duke Ellington classic and Chris Thomas's rendition on this recording is very special. Continuing the family link.
