Dedicated to " Ross Walker"
"Three Course Dinner" is a suite of four fun pieces, designed for very young and inexperienced brass players. It was commissioned in 2021 by the Scottish Brass Band Association, as part of a scheme to provide new music for youth bands.
The titles, and overall concept of the music comes from my Midlothian Council teaching colleague, Ross Walker. We work together on a Scottish Government funded project for 8-9 year olds called "Class Brass", and it was Ross' encouragement to the kids to imagine being served "Kipper Soup" to help form an effective embrochure for brass playing, that inspired us to find a complete meal of imaginary culinary horrors, much to the delight of our students!"
