This is a true story, I had a dream…..
The three wise men were looking for the baby Jesus to give him their gifts. This was done somewhat in the manner of the scene of Monty Python’s ‘Life of Brian’. The search was not successful – Sir Alan Sugar (‘The 'Apprentice’) made an appearance ordering the three wise men to “get off my land”. Meanwhile, the baby Jesus slept peacefully on, unaware of the nearby disturbance. Bizarrely, this dream sequence was played out at high speed, as in the closing scene from each episode of ‘The Benny Hill Show’ of the 1970s. My arrangement attempts to portray this comical caper.

It is the mix of all of these musical roles that has led to Jock establishing a reputation as a leading creator of brass music resources, particularly in the field of education and brass ensemble music

We Three Kings of Orient Are is a Christmas carol (technically an Epiphany carol) written by Reverend John Henry Hopkins, Jr., who wrote both the lyrics and the music as part of a Christmas pageant for the General Theological Seminary in New York City. It was supposedly written as early as 1857 but did not appear in print until his Carols, Hymns and Song was published in 1863.
This particular arrangement comes from the pen of Salvationist composer Dean Jones. The use of a dance-like idiom creates a lively atmosphere, which is tinged with a Spanish flavour in the central section. Duration c. 300”

This traditional item has certainly been arranged with the "wow" factor. Starting gently with a solo from the horn before being joined by the rest of the band, after which it's a cocktail of surprises. A Jazz waltz theme ensures the audience enjoy every toe-tapping minute of the piece whilst your players ravish the solos and counter melodies (there's even a solo for the Eb Bass!) Bells ring out and the feel good factor from this arrangement will leave your audiences stunned as the key change at the end is sure to make the hairs on your neck rise! A must for all Christmas programs.
A highly descriptive arrangement of this traditional Christmas tune. From the distance the camel train bearing the Eastern Kings slowly approaches, eventually disappearing over the opposite horizon. Much use of ethnic percussion (including finger cymbals) - this evocative arrangement is a must for your Christmas concert.
As your concerts draw to a close, no Christmas concert would be complete without a rendition of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". This arrangement is one to let your band go out on a high, ensuring your audiences enjoy every moment.
This smashing arrangement of the famous tune will leave your audiences wanting more and more at the end of your concerts. Written in the style of a fast Fugue, with some technical challenges, but well worth the effort. An instant hit with players and audiences alike.
