Category: De Haske Brass Band Composer: Roland Kernen
Roland Kernen has arranged the songs Macht hoch die Tür (Open Wide the Gates), Maria durch ein Dornwald ging (Maria Walks Amid the Thorns) and O Little Town of Bethlehem in his magical Advents-Fantasie. Category: De Haske Brass Band Composer: Luther Hassler Arranger: Jan Haan
The words and lyrics of the Christmas Carol From Highest Heaven I Come To Tell were written by the great Martin Luther (1483-1546) and can be found in The Hymns of Martin Luther. Martin Luther expressed radical views which began the reformation movement. His followers protested at the treatment given to Martin Luther, the event from which the term 'Protestant' was derived. It was first published in Joseph Klug's Gesangsbuch in around 1535. Add a majestic Baroque feel to any concert with this simple yet effective arrangement.

Fabulous CD - and the ideal Christmas present for anyone who has ever picked up a brass instrument and loves a good tune ! Very hard to pick a favourite track because they are all so good - but if pressed I would probably choose track four - The Nun's Chorus. Impeccable stylish playing from Richard Marshall and superb sympathetic accompaniments from the band.
