Category: FILM MUSIC & MUSICALS Composer: Barry Gray Arranger: Alfie Pugh
This arrangement has been made from Barry Gray's original hand written manuscript.
Barry Gray may not be the most familiar of names, however he wrote the music for many of the productions of the legendary late producer Gerry Anderson. Television series such as Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, UFO, and of course, Thunderbirds which in 2015 celebrates 50 years since its first broadcast.
If you like any of the above tunes, your bands and audiences will love this one.
STINGRAY
1964 (39 Episodes) Between Fireball XLS and Stingray Gerry Anderson’s production company, A.P. Films, was purchased by Lew Grade, and with this came bigger and better studios and productions. Stingray was the first British television series to be filmed entirely in colour, or Videcolor as the on-screen caption states. Barry Gray was to create a full orchestral sound, and a very exciting opening title, with his score to reflect the images on screen, a sound he was to continue into his next series, Thunderbirds.
The World Aquanaut Security Patrol (WASP) has been entrusted with patrolling the world’s oceans, and defending the land masses from the hostile undersea races, including the evil Lord Titan, ruler of the city of Titanica. Based in Marineville, on America’s west coast, CommanderSamShore leads the WASPs, the flagship of which is the super submarine, Stingray. Capable of speeds of up to 600 knots, its Captain is Troy Tempest, supported by Lt Lee ‘Phones’ Sheridan and Marina, the beautiful mute girl from the underwater city of Pacifica. Stingray also featured the voice of Lois Maxwell as CmdrShore’s daughter, Atlanta. Maxwell was better known for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the early Bond films. Ralph Titterton & Alfie Pugh

Category: FILM MUSIC & MUSICALS Composer: John Williams Arranger: Philip Sparke
John Williams has written ceremonial music for many major events and ceremonies but of all these occasional pieces Summon the Heroes is he most elaborate and musically complex.
It was composed for the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996 and performed at the opening ceremony. As with all of John Williams’s ceremonial compositions this work makes an ideal brass band work that will bring the house down as a concert opener.
