Category: Solos Composer: Johann Strauss Arranger: Gordon Langford
In the decade following World War I there appeared to be several attempts to revive the spirit of a world vanished forever by the creation of a number of rather sentimental musical plays and operettas. One of these involved Ralph Benatzky who, in 1928, adapted music by Johann Strauss II to concoct a new operetta on the subject of the great lover Casanova. Posterity has not been kind to this work but The Nuns’ Chorus has at least survived and appears in this collection as a solo for soprano cornet or tenor horn.

"When a composer is combined with a horn player of the calibre of Richard Bissill, then you can expect arrangements of a higher standard than the norm. Richard does not disappoint . . . he also weighs in with some useful instructions before each piece . . . useful whatever you are playing". Reviewed 'The Horn Magazine'
