This is the second CD featuring this "eminent" quartet of brass players, the first CD being "TRIBUTE". Whilst the first CD concentrated very much on core brass quartet contest repertoire of the 20 century, the repertoire on this CD is much more wide ranging and I suspect many brass quartets up and down the country will want to include items from this CD in their next performances.
Unusual to hear quartet arrangements of some of the tunes. Particularly enjoyable were the original compositions - EMINENCE (track 10), THE FOUR MUSKETEERS (track 11), and THE RING of BRODGAR (tracks 12-14). Favourite performances were tracks 17 - "JEWELS" by Eric Ball and track 2 "LASCIA CH'IO PIANGA" by Handel- beautifully played.
