Originally a duo for the two Child's Brothers. Everyone in the band has a go before the music finally goes up in smoke.

This was my first arrangement of the Moto perpetuo and was made for the Childs Brothers. As a showpiece this musical display of perpetual motion still takes some beating, and is used regularly by virtuoso performers staking their claim to stardom. This version starts with Paganini and then gradually goes its own way, finally bursting like a firework falling out of the sky. It has been recently recorded by David Childs for his latest CD, which is entitled, I am delighted to say, MOTO PERPETUO. The award-winning CD was released on September 4th 2010.
